Whenever possible, the jewellery should be cleaned regularly. It does not mean you have to do it often. Just once a month, wipe it with a soft SAVICKI cleaning cloth. This will allow you to get rid of dirt caught in course of everyday use. Cosmetics and sweat do not have to, but can affect the appearance of jewellery in the long run.

We also recommend using special SAVICKI jewellery care liquids. When cleaning jewellery with embedded precious gems and other delicate elements, special care should be taken not to cause mechanical damage.

Storing jewellery

One of the reasons why jewellery should be stored in a closure is to limit the air supply that causes colour change. A jewel case or a delicate pouch is suitable for storing jewels.

Avoid metal packaging that can lead to numerous scratches. If such a package has a sentimental value, you can pad it out them with a delicate material.

Protection against chemicals

Jewellery with precious or natural gemstones, pearls and models based on a complicated design, are sensitive and prone to squeezing, falling out, cracking, chipping, catching and stepping-on.

Most household chemistry products used in homes and everyday cosmetics contain substances that can lead to discoloration directly on the jewellery or skin at the place of contact with the jewellery. Organic elements and natural stones may become dull and delaminate. To prevent this, it is best to remove jewellery before using chemicals, use protective gloves, and in the case of cosmetics, apply them before putting jewellery on.
