Wedding on a day other than Saturday or in winter

Renting a wedding hall on a Friday, Sunday or in the middle of the week usually costs less than on a Saturday. Moreover, the wedding season in Poland lasts from May to the end of September, so by organising the wedding in the less busy months, we will gain additional negotiating arguments. Additionally, it will be much easier to book a photographer, band and other service providers on a day other than Saturday.

    5-10% Savings

By organising your wedding on a day other than Saturday and/or in late autumn or winter except for holidays you can save up to 5-10%!

    Renting a wedding dress

Every woman wants to look absolutely unique on that day. Nevertheless, the one-off expense of buying a new wedding dress can be a considerable burden on your budget. It is therefore worth considering renting, as the costs are much, much lower.

Dress rental prices start from as little as £500.

Hiring a wedding dress costs from PLN 500 to 2000, whereas buying a new one costs from 1800 to several thousand! The savings are therefore really big!

A suit from a sale and one that can be worn for other occasions

The groom-to-be can choose a suit from the sales, taking advantage of the numerous promotions arranged by most well-known chain stores. Moreover, it is worth saving double, that is, choosing a suit that can be worn for other special occasions. The same principle can apply to shoes. In this way, a one-off expense will certainly be less painful. It's also worth remembering that most popular brands offer tailoring alterations in their showrooms, so you can tailor your suit to your figure without spending a fortune on an exclusive bespoke model.

    Up to -70% savings

Of course, buying a fashionable wedding suit at such a steep discount is rare, but discounts of 20-30% are very real. The rule of thumb is: the sooner you start bargain hunting the better, so it's worth keeping an eye on sales as early as a year before the wedding.

    Seasonal flowers

Of course, live flowers are the most beautiful, and they are also the stylistic theme of the wedding and the reception. You will need quite a few of them for decoration, and there remains the question of bouquets for the bride, bridesmaids and mums. In short, to save money, it's worth betting on seasonal flowers.

    Up to several thousand savings

For roses at the end of September you have to pay up to 3 times more than in August. And for kales in November even 4 times more than in May!

Wedding without a reception (or reception without an orchestra)

Back in the 19th, and even at the beginning of the 20th century, Polish weddings could last up to three days, so it is no wonder that the tradition of amendments has survived to the present day. Of course, their costs are incommensurably lower than the wedding itself, but they do increase expenses by a few percent. It is worth asking yourself whether it is worth giving them up, as many guests will be tired anyway after the fun of the night before. However, if you do want to have a makeover, you can dispense with an orchestra or DJ, which will certainly have a positive impact on your budget.

Savings on the "plate" and the orchestra amount to several thousand savings

The standard assumption is that the cost of a reception is about 50 zł per "plate", i.e. per person. In the case of a wedding for 60 people, this is already an amount of PLN 3,000. Even if the amendments are included in the price of the wedding, it is possible to cancel the orchestra or the DJ, so that we will not incur the costs for the additional accommodation and the music setting itself the next day.

Own cold drinks and alcohol from a wholesaler

As a rule, the wedding industry adds a considerable margin to drinks and alcohol. For this reason, it is advisable to ask at the outset about the possibility of stocking up on your own. It is also advisable to buy in advance from a wholesaler, as every penny will make a difference here. The organisers will usually agree, but will add a corkage fee, which makes this option no longer particularly viable. In this situation, there is nothing left to do but to bargain for a corkage fee or a lower margin.'

    Bargain for cork

As a rule, the wedding industry adds a hefty markup to drinks and alcohol or charges "corkage" fees. In this situation, you simply have to bargain a little!

Wedding car from a cousin or friend instead of a rental car

Surely you have a relative or friend in your family who would be happy to lend you a beautiful car to drive to the church and wedding hall in style.

"Thank you" instead of £500 or a much larger expense

Prices for hiring a wedding car start from an average of PLN 500, reaching several or even several thousand PLN for a unique vintage car, a sports car, an exclusive limousine or a Hummer.

    Advice 7/12

Wedding car with or without minimalist decoration

This expense is not the biggest, but you know: a grain to a grain and... if you are looking to save money, it is worth opting for car decoration, for example in the form of satin ribbons, balloons and/or flowers on the door handles. This kind of minimalism looks very good, because in the case of car decoration, the principle "less is more" is extremely apt.

Prices for wedding car decoration start from £200-300

There is, of course, no limit, as it all depends on the style, the flower species chosen and the quality of the decoration. Nevertheless, the most classic decorations can often be made by yourself or simply limited to minimalist decorations costing a few or a dozen zlotys.

DJ instead of band and soloist(s)

There is no wedding without good music, as it literally and figuratively sets the rhythm of the party. Of course, rates vary greatly and depend on the class of performers their repertoire and the situation on the wedding market. However, it is worth bearing in mind that the expense for a band with a soloist(s) is usually 2-3 times more.

A dj for a wedding is an average cost of £1500 to £8000

The expense for a 2-3 piece orchestra with soloist(s) is between £4,000 and £20,000. Ps. We would like to remind you about the song selection and the list of banned songs that you do not want to hear at your wedding!

Muffins instead of a traditional cake

Although a wedding cake is a tradition, you have to pay a lot for it. An alternative is muffins arranged in a striking manner. This option will save you a good amount of money and at the same time you will gain an original decor accent! You can also order a small wedding cake for you and your parents to symbolically cut it and treat your guests to some delicious muffins.

A wedding cake costs from £85 to over £1,000/kg

The standard assumption is 10kg per 100 people, or 100g per person, so even the cheapest cake for 50 guests will cost around £425.

    DIY wedding invitations

If you make them yourself, enlist the help of witnesses, family or friends, it is certain that your wedding invitation will be absolutely unique and personal. This is a value in itself and will certainly, even if they are not perfect, evoke warm feelings in the recipients. The second thing is to save money. Of course, if you make the invitations yourself, you have to invest your time and buy the materials, but it's worth bearing in mind that on average one wedding invitation costs about £4.

The average price of wedding invitations ranges from £3 to £12.

The prerequisite for this price is the choice of available design. You usually have to pay extra for an individual design.

Wedding fairs - hunting for trends and discounts

'Be sure to attend the wedding fairs, which are usually held outside the wedding season, i.e. from September to March. Together you can look for inspiration and take advantage of offers from exhibitors who tempt you with discounts. You will also have the opportunity to ask for details right away!

    Discount at the fair

At the wedding fair, you can gain a 20% to 30% discount if you decide to buy during the fair.
