Art nouveau jewellery

Art nouveau jewellery is simply a style whose name means "new art". It was created in France during the Victorian era. Everything, or at least quite a lot, started with the French jewelleer René Lalique, who presented his works in a completely new style at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 - a multicolored dragonfly, a necklace resembling a forest fleece and a tiara with a rooster's head. And then it started. While the works were artistically received with enthusiasm, potential clients rather doubted that art nouveau had a practical beauty. However, art nouveau jewellery is used to this day, although the accessories are not so colorful and extravagant, jewelers draw many ideas from this style, turning their inspiration into beautiful animal motifs, very delicate and making an amazing impression at the same time.

Art nouveau – jewellery full of nature

Art Nouveau in its conception used ornaments derived from the natural world, but not necessarily the charming and colorful one. The ornamentation includes animals, plants, insects, and sometimes even figures straight from the world of fantasy, such as bats. The more naturalistic Art Nouveau jewellery is the better. Common motifs of Art Nouveau jewellery include butterflies, dragonflies, twigs, orchids, flower shoots, herbs, peacock feathers, and shells. As nature created them. Art Nouveau jewellery is beautiful, intricate, and even mysterious accessories, perfect for people bored with the classics. Such bold accessories will surely add great elegance to any styling and make it unique!
